"Imagination annihilation"

Films: Daniel Isn't Real (2019)

Alias: None

Type: Mystical

Location: Eldritch Location/Civilized Area

Height/Weight: That of an average human...usually.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: Imaginary friends aren't inherently a bad thing, really. Sometimes, loneliness sucks so much that it helps to speak to someone, even if he/she/it only exists in the mind. But one could only hope that this guy was just a figment of the imagination. But no, Daniel is far more than that.

History: Luke was always a meek and shy young man in desperate need of socialization. To rationalize his lot in life, he created a beefier and bolder version of himself as an imaginary friend named Daniel. Unfortunately, their friendship came to a sad end when Daniel convinced Luke to almost kill his mother by accident. Years later, after said mom had locked up Daniel in a dollhouse, Luke brings him back in his time of young-adult need. And while Dan at first appears helpful, there is something much more sinister about what he exactly is. He's not an imaginary friend. He's a demonic psychic parasite known as a Traveler, and he's corrupted numerous hosts into doing horrible things before killing themselves. Soon, Luke ends up fighting for his own body as Daniel threatens to kick his soul out.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: After breaking out of the dollhouse Daniel put him in, Luke's soul reenters his body, and he ends up killing himself to stop the demon's rampage. However, whether Daniel will just seek out another host is a bit unclear.

Powers/Abilities: Can possess one's body, and appear to them and them alone. He can banish the host's consciousness and take over if allowed.

Weakness: If the host body dies, Daniel will have to seek someone else, or die.

Scariness Factor: 4-If you thought that imaginary friends in general were a red flag for schizophrenia, wait until you see one that legitimately destroys the person who has him around. Daniel has the physique of a model, and the mind of a monstrous otherworldly being that sees people as playthings. He is as despicable as he is brutal. Also, his true form is definitely not a sight for sore eyes, and his means of taking over...you really have to see it for yourself. You won't be prepared for it at all.

Trivia: -Daniel was played by Patrick Schwarzenegger, the son of Arnie himself. It's nice to see the guy following in his badass father’s footsteps in a way, really.

-Speaking of which, Patrick actually drew more inspiration from Nicolas Cage, and was delighted by the fact that the makers of this film had also produced Cage's 2018 positively insane spectacle, "Mandy".
